Today, I was walking through history, the remnants of the past. The glory it would have had and the mystic beauty that surrounded it. A breath-taking marvelling structure stood before my eyes. It would have taken passion and toil to have built it step by step, floor by floor, generation by generation. Some even got their hands chopped! But it stood and remained behind. For long, long after they had thought it would. It towered over them and later surpassed them. This marvel remains behind and speaks volumes of the times then. Times spent in war, bad times. Times spent in worship, good times. The bad and the good no more can be differentiated. All that stayed behind was ‘that moment’. The moment they did it. The moment they made the creation. The moment they created not just for them but for hundreds of years later. Today it speaks while it stood a mute witness then. It makes noise and calls upon us.
Holding his head the man looks up, confused. The clock ticks, whispering, live while you are at it for this too shall pass!
